Not gonna lie. It hasn't been my favorite month. And yet, in spite of wondering what on earth was happening everyday, I have also decided to take a moment every morning, have my kids draw "turkeys" (tracing their hands with a marker) and think about one thing they're grateful for. Then I write it on the "turkey" and place it in a jar with the intention of reading them all on December 1st.
And thus, I have been thinking about it too. Of course I am thankful for them (my kids, in case that wasn't clear. I am also grateful for their hands. And their tracing abilities, but I digress). Of course I am thankful for my husband, their father. And of course I am thankful for my family. And the fact that I get to work with a family member every day is extremely gratifying.
And I'm thankful for what we have created here. This month has been trying with the exception of the moments when I was with my friends. Or with my family. Or even just talking on the phone and texting with my friends and family. The initial moments of laughter we shared. I am so grateful to bring friends together to share cocktails and be excited about making cocktails. And I don't use the plural by accident. There's been a lot of cocktails drunk (drank?) this month.
I am hopeful that together we can get through to December 1st. That we can look back and say, yes, despite all that November crap, we did take a moment to remember what's good. Everyday. And maybe that will take us to January 1st. And so on...
I hope.
